★★★★★ It is hard to find originality in the genre, but James takes the apocalypse to a broad new level, viewing a desiccated and dangerous world through the eyes of our reluctant hero and a sometimes-devastating rotation of complex companions. The tension is tight, the action unrelenting, the stakes ever-growing and the scale vast and imaginable. This is your next immersive zombie ride.
